DESCRIPTION

This conference will showcase the progress in the development of National Surgical Plans as a key component of surgical system strengthening. We will aim to identify key challenges faced at the national, regional and global levels to engage in national surgical planning and discuss potential solutions. Importantly, it will also serve to build consensus in clinical, research, policy, and advocacy domains around surgical system strengthening by bringing together, a wide range of inter-disciplinary stakeholders.

OBJECTIVES

To identify the importance of National SurgicalPlanning to strengthen surgical care
To identify challenges and opportunities to scale up Surgical, Obstetric & Gynaecology and Anaesthesia Planning in the Eastern Mediterranean Region
To discuss the role of the World Health Organization in strategic planning and technical support for countries
To examine the role of key partners in supporting countries to scale up surgical, obstetric, anaesthesia and trauma care.
