INTEGRATED MILITARY PARTNERSHIPS AND CIVILIAN TRAUMA SYSTEMS (IMPACT) STUDY

The Integrated Military Partnerships and Civilian Trauma Systems (IMPACT) Study is an innovative project that aims to understand the function and capabilities of military trauma systems, and the level of integration that may exist with civilian trauma systems. Where feasible, the utility of military-civilian partnerships could be viewed as a “leapfrog strategy” to advance trauma systems development.

  • Our multi-national collaborative identified a list of factors that encompass integration through a 57-question survey

  • In addition, we are organizing focused discussion groups to identify nuanced cultural issues not captured by the survey

  • Survey closed 31December2023

  • Responses from 77 individual countries

  • Our mixed-methods approach provides the foundation for a future Delphi consensus process in which the identified indicators are ranked
  • The goal is to build a regional framework for integration that can be offered to countries that wish to utilize civilian-military trauma system integration
