"With rare exceptions, all of your most important achievements on this planet will come from working with others, or in a word, partnership.”

Surgery Fellowship
National Surgical
Planning

The Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowship was created to train leaders who will further promote surgical care, education, and research pertinent to global surgery. Individuals can apply for a two-year position as research fellows or medical students can apply for a one-year position as research collaborators.

The Program in Global Surgery and Social Change works with several Ministries of Health to develop National, Surgical, Obstetric, and Anesthesia Plans (NSOAPS). Learn more about completed NSOAPs and review resources that have been developed to facilitate the planning and implementation process below.
Where We
Work

Regardless of the track chosen, the main focus of the Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowship curriculum revolves around advocacy, education, research, and the provision of surgical care. Research Fellows and collaborators are expected to work collaboratively and participate in the education and training of other residents and medical students who are working as part of the Global Surgery Team.
